Subject: House Judiciary Chairman Lance Kinzer Got Stabbed in the Back
Kathy:
By all means please contact Claudine & Melody. I think Claudine will be an extremely effective lobbyist for judicial reform at the capital and Melody can help you oranize a grass roots reform movemen inthe KC area.. The #1 rule of politics is that "Perception is reality." I want Kathleen Sebelius, Mark Parkinson, Steve Six, John Vrtil & Mike O'Neal to perceive that we are sick & tired of the corruption in the nepotistic Kansas legal establishment. Conversely we need to let Lance Kinzer & Jim Morrison know that we truly appreciate their efforts to save children, to protect families and to save the taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars.
Judicial reform is the buzz word for our movement, but transparency & accountability is even more universal government virtue that appeals to both liberals & conservatives. I enclosed an article from Kansas Liberty with a post that I made. I also attached a list of the House Judiciary Committee Members & their phone numbers. I think we deserve to know who poisoned judicial reform this legislative session.
Please forward this e-mail to the troops and ask them to call or e-mail their house representative to ask why we are not allowed to know who voted against Kinzer's bill in committee. The best place to apply the political pressure is in the House of Representatives. If any of us can raise $5,000 and can get 10 volunteers to commit to walking 4 weeks in July or in October, we can defeat apathetic, cynical state reps in primary or general elections.
I hope that pro-choice liberal Democrats will seriously consider voting to elect Lance Kinzer to replace Attorney General Steve Six next year even though Kinzer is a conservative pro-life Republican. The primary job of a state attorney general is to investigate & prosecute criminals especially if the victims are children. I know of an unresolved high profile case involving corrupt involving high profile Wichita SRS employees, district attorney prosecutors, Wichita police detectives, forensic psychologists & family law case managers & attorneys. The case was referred to the criminal division of the attorney generals office almost 2 years ago by an out of state interest group and several prominent house members. A few months after the referral a story was leaked about AG Paul Morrison having an affair with an assistant and Morrison was forced to resign before he could effectively prosecute
It's not surprising that the Kansas Bar Association made sure that Sebelius (former lobbyist for the Kansas Trial Attorneys Association) appointed Steve Six, an apologist for the corrupt system to replace Paul Morrison. IMHO Six is dragging its feet on this case because: Six is a former district court judge, Six's Daddy is retired Kansas Supreme Court Justice Fred Six who opposed the Kinzer bill, Six's Momma was the long time admissions administrator at KU School of Law, Six's wife is a KU Law Professor and former partner at a large KC law firm. Of course Rick Guinn, the Associate Attorney General the Criminal Division may have been too busy to do his job to protect children because Rick spent 5 months last year running an unsuccessful campaign for Johnson County District Attorney.
Corruption, fascism, greed & nepotism are the core characteristics of the Kansas Judicial system. However I am confidant that we can remind our Democrat & Republican state representatives that they are accountable to their constituents and not the Kansas Bar Association.

Bill to reform Supreme Court appointment process stifled in committee
An attempt to change the way Kansas Supreme Court justices are appointed has ended, at least for now.
Rep. Lance Kinzer, an Olathe Republican who chairs the House Judiciary Committee and who sponsored the bill, HCR 5005, told Kansas Liberty Tuesday the bill would receive no further action during the current session.
“We just don’t have the votes to get it out of committee, so it’s incubating,” Kinzer said.
The bill would have offered a constitutional amendment that, if approved by voters, would have eliminated the involvement of the Kansas Bar Association in nominating high-court judges.
It also would have required nominees to be confirmed by the Kansas Senate.
Supreme Court justices now are nominated by a committee dominated by lawyers. The governor is required to pick from the names the committee sends to her. There are no confirmation or other public hearings, no public scrutiny of nominees and no independent background check confirms their suitability. No other state has a selection process so independent of voters or lawmakers.
Defeat of the bill came despite favorable testimony by five law professors, including former Kansas GOP Chair Kris Kobach, a constitutional law professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, who summarized his position in an op-ed column that appeared today in The Wichita Eagle.

HEY PHIL: I'm kind of surprised that you made this a premium only article. I thought that if I paid $100 per year for the subscription that KL would disclose which GOP commttee members stabbed Kinzer in the back. I didn't read much buzz from Americans for Prosperity about this bill. Maybe the Koch brothers & the eggheads at Flint Hills condone the status quo corruption, elitism & fascism in the Sedgwick County district courts & district attorneys office. Maye estate taxes are more important than transparency & accountability, constitutional rights to due process. You better not offend Vrtil or O'Neal (or their law partners). Rep. Jim Morrison wanted to have all committee hearings video taped & saved to the state house computer so that constituents could log in at night to see how their legislators voted in committee. I guess we'll have to depend on Hawver, Klepper & you to decide what we are allowed to know. kiakahahaha@yahoo.com 316 293-6079

Subject: Re: Johnson County Petition for Criminal Grand Jury
bill, thank you so much for the phone numbers. didn't you like mike kiegerl. he is one of a few legislators that i truly do trust. i have found that most say one thing and then do another or just "back-peddle".
I've had a judge from wichita stand right in front of me and another woman and lie to her and say that she misunderstood his promises. she didn't misunderstand, i heard him say exactly what he said he would do but then did NOTHING.
you seem to be a good guy and caring person. i hope and pray you can help us.
i'll be contacting melody. should i contact Claudine?
thanks again for your help and contact information.
